310 Stainless Steel


Grade 310 stainless steel is extremely corrosive resistant. It is available in a variety of strengths and common categories include ¼ Hard, ½ Hard, full hard – right through to extra hard specifications. It is typically supplied as wires, strips or sheets. Elevated carbon properties mean that it can be cold worked to a range of tempers.

The strength and anti-corrosion properties of stainless steel 310 are what make the material so useful across a range of industries. It is a readily available, austenitic stainless for manufacturing and other industrial uses.


This material can be heat treated, using Annealing however it cannot be hardened through thermal treatment.
Cold working hardens the material at a rapid rate, typically through cold rolling and roll forming When it is cold-rolled, it becomes highly magnetic.
Welding is a common process with this category of steel however this process does remove the high strength that can be achieved through earlier cold rolling.
